About Jaron

Hi there!  Just a short introduction I grew up in and was educated in the tiny island of Singapore.  In a somewhat radical move for both my personal life and my career, I moved to London where I now live.  This is after working for about 8 years in various industries and being a bit more certain what I would like to do.

The next chapter in my journey would very likely see me being enrolled in university here studying a postgraduate degree in organisational psychology.  If you happen to be visiting from London, do give a shout out!

How I began my love affair with fountain pens

When I was about 10 or 11, my dad happened to be talking to my sister and myself about the importance of mathematics and gave us a question to solve.  He said that he would buy us something special as a reward and that is where we both got our first pens.

Come to think of it, I have no idea where his inspiration to buy someone so young something which would require such care.  I am grateful he did because since then, my fascination with fountain pens has continued to when I was able to buy pens for myself.

What this page is for

The Art of Elegance is here to discuss all things fountain pens.  Be it how you first came into contact with them, particular models or brands and our evolving relationship with them.  I believe writing with fountain pens requires a certain deliberation and most of the time what we write would not be in haste.  Even the refilling and caring of them is a lot more involved than would be in the case of a ballpoint pen.

Most people might think of fountain pens as being inaccessible in terms of maintenance, price or appreciation and I would like to say that this is not the case.  The entry level pens are very affordable and are an absolute joy to write with.  A lot of you would definitely have more knowledge than me and it will be my pleasure to have the chance to learn from you!

One for all, all for one

I would like to be able to build a community where we are able to express our opinions and talk about our interests.  Remember, if you post anything in the comments, treat someone else how you would like to be treated!

If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to me an email and I will get back to you.
